TRAINING PROCESS

I use the NASM Optimum Performance Training (OPT) model an evidence-based system that safely progresses you from beginner to advanced levels while improving movement quality, building strength, and reducing injury risk. Each phase builds on the last  stability first, then strength, then power so you’re not just working harder, you’re moving better and progressing with purpose for long-term, sustainable results.

Months 3-5 | Beginner Conditioning phase

This foundational phase emphasizes stability, mobility, and neuromuscular control. Clients focus on learning proper exercise techniques, improving joint stability, enhancing muscular endurance, and building work capacity. Training uses controlled tempos, moderate resistance, and full-body movements to establish consistency, confidence, and readiness for more advanced training phases.

Months 4–9 | Strength Development Phase

During this phase, training shifts from foundational conditioning to structured strength building. Clients now have sufficient stability and movement proficiency to handle increased loads. Programming emphasizes maximal strength and hypertrophy, using heavier resistance, lower rep ranges, and longer rest periods. Exercises progress from primarily bilateral to more integrated and compound movements, enhancing force production and muscular development while maintaining proper mechanics. The goal is to build a strong, resilient body capable of producing and controlling higher levels of force.

Months 9–12 | Power & Performance Phase

This advanced phase focuses on rate of force production and athletic performance. Clients are able to convert strength into usable power through explosive movements, dynamic resistance, and speed-based training. Programming integrates contrast, complex, and plyometric training where appropriate, while continuing to reinforce movement efficiency and injury prevention. The outcome is improved speed, agility, coordination, and real-world performance — whether for sport, lifestyle demands, or high-level fitness goals.
